Comprehensive Understanding of TCP/IP models

Transmission Control Protocol and the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) is a conceptual model set of rules and procedures similar to the computer network.

The TCP/IP model was created in the 1970s by the Defense Research Project Agency(DARPA). Like the OSI model, it describes general guidelines for designing and implementing computer protocols.

TCP/IP layers

TCP/IP consists of four layers:

  1. Application
  2. Transport
  3. Internet
  4. Network Acces
